Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes was born on April 3rd 1986 and is a former Nickelodeon host. She has starred in a number of Nickelodeon shows and is currently making her way into the film industry as a successful actress.
Amanda began acting professionally at just 7 years old after being trained as an actress at a comedy camp. She appeared in a commercial for ‘Bruncha Crunch’ candies and appeared in several stage versions of shows such as ‘Annie’ and ‘The sound of music’ to gain acting experience.
In 1996 Amanda starred in two Nickelodeon shows ‘Figure it out’ and ‘All that’ and later went on to become the star of a new Nickelodeon show called ‘The Amanda Show’. Her film debut came in 2002 in the film ‘Big Fat Liar’ alongside Frankie Muniz the film was a moderate hit and proved popular with its teenage audience. She quickly mobbed on to her own starring role in the film ‘What a girl wants’ in 2003 which again was successful but not a box office smash.
That same year Amanda was featured on the front cover of Vanity Fair magazine alongside fellow actresses including Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, the Olsen Twins, and Lindsay Lohan and was regarded as one of the 9 most popular young female stars. Amanda often found the attention a little overwhelming saying that she had been the skinny spotty kid and school.
One of Amanda’s most recently released films was ‘She’s the man’ it is loosely based on the William Shakespeare novel Twelfth Night and sees Amanda’s character disguise herself as her brother in order to join a high class boarding school.
Amanda has said that she would now like to start focusing on more mature roles in the future and has signed up to play Penny Pingleton in the new film version of the cult theatre show ‘Hairspray’ Filming is said to have began in 2006 on this and it should probably be expected for release sometime next year.
Amanda hopes to one day attend University and has an interest in art, drawing, and fashion design. She has a dog called Midge and recently moved back into her parent’s home after briefly moving into an apartment in California.
At such a young age Amanda Bynes certainly has a long and prosperous career ahead of her and it will be interesting to see her future more mature films released.
