Christina Ricci
Christina Ricci was born in Santa Monica, California. She had acted in school plays from a very early age and had her sights set on eventually becoming a respected actress in the entertainment industry.
It looked like Christina’s plans were set in motion when she got a part in the film ‘Mermaids’ by Richard Benjamin. The movie starred Cher, Bob Hoskins and Winona Ryder. Christina played the part of Cher’s youngest daughter.
Although Winona gained most of the recognition from the film it proved to be the starting block that Christina needed to kick start her career and she next went on to star as ‘Wednesday’ in the film version of ‘The Addam’s Family’ this was to set the trend for her series of dark and gothic style roles that she would soon become notorious for.
She next got a starring role in the children’s film ‘Casper’ in which she played a lonely young girl who befriends a ghost.
The next role to grab Christina’s attention was the film ‘Now and Then’ a coming of age style drama about a group of girls finding friendships and learning about life along the way. This was to lead to more mature films for Christina and from there she went on to star in such films as ‘The ice storm’ ‘Buffalo 66’ and ‘The opposite of sex’ this showed Christina in a completely different light and paved the way for many different roles to come.
Her dark gothic looks never let her down, she found herself being offered more of these types of roles and subsequently starred in the Tim Burton classic ‘Sleepy Hollow’ alongside Johnny Depp and the Wes Craven werewolf movie ‘Cursed’ which sees a brother and sister attacked by a werewolf and finding that they two have been given the curse and must stop it before they fully change.
Christina dated her fellow actor Adam Goldberg for a long period of time, the couple recently broke up but have been spotted possibly attempting a reconciliation and appearing to be close once more.
Christina Ricci is a keen charity supporter and has involvement with campaigning for causes such as ‘Planned Parenthood’ and ‘Emergency Contraception’
She has several tattoos and is known for her no nonsense outspoken nature in both her work and private life.
