Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo as she is often referred to was born on July 24TH 1969 and is a multi talented member of the entertainment and movie world. She has many claims to fame, and can turn her hand to everything from acting, singing, song writing and even fashion design. She was born in the Bronx and always had a dream of becoming a successful star.
Jennifer Lopez acting career was one of the first things to put her into the public eye. She has starred in various different films and TV shows ranging from the early lower budget hits like the drama ‘My Family’ in 1995 to the bigger films like ‘Money Train’ alongside acclaimed actor Wesley Snipes. She then went on to take the lead role in a film called ‘Selena’ for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
She has guest starred in more recent TV shows like the hugely successful ‘Will and Grace’ and a number of romantic films like ‘The wedding planner’ and ‘Maid in Manhattan’ both of which she acted well in and had the ability to make the audience instantly warm to her character.
J-Lo found her music career beginning to take off back in 1999 and by pulling hits like ‘Love don’t cost a thing’ and ‘Aint it funny’ out of the bag she soon became a regular feature in the worldwide music charts. She has collaborated musically with fellow actor and singer LL Cool J for the fantastic ‘All I have’ which spent several weeks in the number one position.
As well as being famous for her career, Jennifer Lopez is also well known for being a bit of a ‘Diva’ when it comes to wanting things her own way, there have been many newspaper stories suggesting that she can be quite difficult to work with at times and highly demanding but J-Lo insists these are purely rumours and that she is really a down to earth person.
The media have also taken quite an interest in her love life; having been married 3 times she has hit the headlines for her happiness as well as for the break ups that followed. The most famous of all Jennifer’s relationships has to be her engagement to Ben Affleck which was highly publicised and dubbed ‘Bennifer’ by the press.
The two had planned to be married in September 2003 but called things off just days before this, eventually permanently splitting on January 20th 2004. Jennifer currently has 3 films in production which can be expected in the next year or so, and no doubt we will also hear more quality music from her shortly.
