Jenny McCarthy is an American model turned actress who started life in the entertainment industry as a model for popular men’s magazine ‘Playboy’ from there she has gone on to star in several movies, TV shows and is currently turning her hand to writing books. She was born to a Catholic family, who lived in Chicago, and when money became tight and she needed to fund her college career she sent a photo of herself to the ‘Playboy’ magazine and was later accepted as a playboy model. After becoming accepted Jenny was paid $30,000 to appear in the October issue of the magazine, and later went on to be given the title ‘Playmate of the year’ in 1993.
Jenny’s TV career began to be formed when MTV asked her to become the host of a new show ‘Singled Out’ this proved to be a success and she received many more offers of work to come. She was later given her own TV series called ‘Jenny’ but this didn’t succeed and was cancelled very quickly.
In 1998 Jenny had a role in the comedy film ‘BASEketball’ alongside the creators of the popular animated show ‘South Park’ Matt Stone and Trey Parker. She also went on to have a guest role in the hit horror film sequel ‘Scream 3’ as Sarah Darling. She also starred in the spoof comedy of the movie ‘Scary Movie 3’ as Kate.
Jenny has appeared on many long running TV shows in guest roles and as regular members. She starred in an episode of the popular fantasy series ‘Charmed’ about three sisters who must fight the power of evil and played the character Mitzy Stillman.
She performed her role well and later went on to star in other TV shows such as ‘The Drew Carey Show’ ‘Stacked’ and ‘Hope and Faith’. Jenny McCarthy’s most recent film is the 2006 hit movie ‘John Tucker Must Die’ in which she plays Lori Spencer.
Jenny has dated her manager Ray Manzella for a very short while, but after the two broke up she went on to date actor and director John Asher and the couple eventually married on September 11th 1999. The two have a son together called Evan Joseph who was born on May 18th 2002. Jenny and John later filed for divorce in 2005.
Jenny has been most recently rumoured to be dating comedian and actor Jim Carrey, the couple allegedly got together in late 2005 but didn’t make their relationship public until 2006.
