Julia Roberts

If like me you are in your late 20’s, then chances are that you have probably grown up loving classic films such as Pretty Woman starring the wonderful and talented actress Julia Roberts. The Cinderella like story of a call girl who falls in love with a wealthy businessman made Julia Roberts a huge star and really set her acting career into motion and put her on the right tracks for a long line of equally successful films in further years.

She first made her movie debut in the teen film ‘Mystic Pizza’ in 1988 and has found herself firmly in the public eye ever since. She later went on to star alongside Dolly Parton in the film ‘Steel Magnolia’s’.
It was in 2001 when she won an Academy Award for best actress in the hugely successful film ‘Erin Brockovich’ in which she played the role of an unemployed single mother who becomes a legal assistant and finds herself in the middle of what soon turns out to be one of the biggest lawsuits in America.

This lead to her becoming one of the highest paid, and most in demand actresses of all time and opened up the door for her to go on to various different roles such as the romantic movie ‘The Mexican’ alongside Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini and the eagerly anticipated star studded ‘Oceans 11’ with George Clooney and Brad Pitt in which Danny Ocean and a group of ex cons attempt the biggest casino heist of all time.

Not satisfied with just being a huge movie superstar Julia next set her sights on the world of the theatre, she made her Broadway debut in 2006 playing the lead role in the show ‘Three days of rain’ and although the show did not generate as much positive response from critics as she was hoping for she relished the chance to gain the theatre experience.

Julia Roberts’s personal life has been the subject of much media interest after a series of ‘failed’ engagements to various different actors such as 24 star Kiefer Sutherland.

She married singer Lyle Lovett in 1993 and the couple divorced in 1995 Julia then had a long running relationship with fellow actor Benjamin Bratt from 1997-2001 before finally settling down with cameraman Daniel Molder on 4 July 2002; the couple met while filming The Mexican. Their twin children, Hazel and Phinnaeus, were born on 28 November 2004.
