Liv Tyler
Born on July 1st 1977 Liv Tyler is an America actress and the daughter of rock band Aerosmith’s lead singer Steven Tyler. She is best known for her role in the huge blockbuster of 1998 ‘Armageddon’ and for her portrayal of Arwen in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy.
Liv Tyler began her career as a model, being 5ft 10” and absolutely stunning this was something that seemed to come naturally to Liv. As often happens in the industry Liv later went on to star in music video’s such as the Aerosmith video for ‘Crazy’ in 1993 and this eventually led to a career in movies.
In 1996 she starred in the Tom Hanks movie ‘That thing you do’ as Faye Dolan. The films catchy soundtrack and title song helped it to become a relatively big film and not a bad start to Liv’s career as an actress. However, her big break was soon to come when she was cast in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Armageddon’ alongside Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck and Billy Bob Thornton.
The film was a massive success and took the box office by storm, putting Liv Tyler well and truly on the map as a great American actress.
She went on to do a number of movies after ‘Armageddon’ such as ‘Doctor T and the Women’ in which she starred alongside actress (and daughter of Goldie Hawn) Kate Hudson and the lovely Richard Gere. She then filmed ‘One night at McCool’s’ before being offered another dream role in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy playing the beautiful Arwen.
Given the success of the lord of the rings books everyone knew that the film was going to be big, and they were right! It drew in huge crowds and received almost nothing but praise from both critics and fans alike.
Since then Liv Tyler has not done many films, other than ‘Jersey Girl’ starring alongside fellow ‘Armageddon’ actor Ben Affleck again. She has instead had time to focus more on her family life and her marriage to Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog and their son Milo William Langdon who was born on December 14th 2004.
She has been quoted as saying that she doesn’t live a ‘posh’ life; she enjoys being able to live a normal life as much as possible and loves to do the everyday mundane tasks like cooking and cleaning etc, stating that it’s not good to have a life without responsibilities. Live Tyler currently has 3 films in pre production all due out in the next year or two.
