Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22nd 1976 in New Orleans Louisiana. She travelled for much of her childhood before eventually settling down in Nashville. Reese discovered her love of acting from a very early age and set her sights on becoming a serious actress.
After various auditions she won a few small roles in movies which were received well by critics, but her big break came in the 2001 hit film ‘Cruel Intentions’ alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and her husband Ryan Philippe in which she played the younger more innocent of all the characters.
This was her first film with Ryan, the two had met at her 21st Birthday and since Ryan was jetting off to star in ‘I know what you did last summer’ the very next day the two kept in touch via letters and eventually became engaged in December 1998 and went on to get married on June 5th 1999.
The couple have two beautiful children Ava and Deacon and are renowned for always putting them first before their acting career, they usually take on roles at different times so that one of them is always around to be there for the kids when needed and have always believed in not hiring a nanny to look after their children.
Despite of her busy lifestyle Reese still manages to find time to take on some of the best roles in the film industry. She has played everything from the ditzy blonde ‘Elle’ in the comedy ‘Legally Blonde’ and ‘Legally Blonde 2’ to more serious roles in ‘American Psycho’ ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Walk the line’ which focuses on the life and times of singer Johnny Cash.
In 2006 Reese won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role as June Carter Cash which was truly deserved as she played the part brilliantly and utterly convincingly.
Reese Witherspoon has also appeared in the long running comedy series ‘Friends’ in which she played the hilarious role of Rachel’s sister Jill Greene for two episodes in 2000.
Reese has also recently moved her current Production Company "Type A Films" to Universal Pictures. They have already picked up a romantic comedy ‘Sports Widow’ for Reese to star in and produce. It should be very interesting to watch her grow as a producer as well as the obviously talented actress she has become.
Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Philippe and their two children currently reside in LA in their comfortable family home.
