Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar is probably best known around the world for her role in the cult classic TV series ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ in which she played ‘Buffy Summers’ the chosen one, who alongside her group of friends must track down and destroy vampires.
She quickly became a household name as the show grew in popularity over the years and enjoyed a fantastic seven season run before reaching its dramatic end. From there Sarah went on to star in a variety of movies such as ‘Scooby Doo’ alongside her husband and fellow actor Freddie Prinze Jr. who she married in 2002 in Mexico.
She also starred in the horror classic ‘I know what you did last summer’ and in less successful films such as ‘Simply Irresistible’ which unfortunately proved to be a flop with critics and the general public due to its weak storyline and acting.
However, it was in the film ‘Cruel Intentions’ that she soon made her comeback and wowed audiences with her portrayal of Kathryn Merteuil the cunning and manipulative step sister of Sebastian Valmont (Played by the brilliantly talented Ryan Phillippe) the film was an instant success and it was a refreshing change to see Sarah Michelle Gellar play such a drastically different role to those she had tackled in the past.
Her success in this quickly paved the way to more interesting and challenging roles in movies such as the chilling horror remake ‘The Grudge’ in which she plays a housekeeper who witnesses the evil that resides in a seemingly ordinary home. She later reprised her role for a brief appearance in ‘The Grudge 2’ in which she passes the grudge on to her sister.
While Sarah Michelle Gellar will undoubtedly by largely remembered for her work on Buffy The Vampire Slayer she has also managed to build a successful career for herself long after the show which seems to be leading her to even bigger and better places for the future.
She is lined up to play ‘Alice’ in the twisted version of Alice in wonderland due to be filmed later this year titled ‘American McGee’s Alice’ and
it is certain that Sarah has a long and fruitful career ahead of her.
With her stunning good looks and versatile acting abilities she is sure to go on to even bigger and better things over the next few years and I’m sure we will see her in the Hollywood blockbusters of the future.
