The Olsen Twins
Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Fuller Olsen are probably better known as The Olsen Twins. They were born on June 13th 1986 and have been appearing in various TV shows and films from a very early age.
These two beautiful and intelligent sisters even have their own clothing line and have even been named ‘The most powerful women in Hollywood by the publication ‘Hollywood Reporter’.
So, needless to say, the twins are extremely talented and have a great sense of business. This has been present for a long time and even as young children they had always dreamed of becoming successful actresses. Some say it was something that the twins were just born to do.
Mary Kate and Ashley first made their acting debut when they were just 7 months old sharing the part of ‘Michelle Tanner’ in the TV series ‘Full House’ they took it in turns to have scenes filmed and shared the role as the producers didn’t want the audience to know that the character was actually played by two twins. However, as they got older they began to be credited separately for the role.
They stayed with the show for an amazing eight year run and became a much loved reason for audiences to tune in. After they left ‘Full House’ they immediately started to promote themselves as actresses and set things in motion for more film and TV shows straight away so as to remain in the media spotlight.
They have starred in the hit film ‘The adventures of Mary Kate and Ashley’ and the hit TV series ‘Two of a kind’ which was later followed up by a less successful series ‘So Little Time’.
They were awarded a star on the Hollywood walk of fame on April 29th 2004 and are apparently the youngest celebrities to have ever received this honour. The twins have become famous for their keen fashion sense and Mary Kate was especially noted for creating her own individual style.
Mary Kate and Ashley, like other stars in the public eye have also had their fair share of bad press. In 2004 Mary Kate checked in to rehab for an eating disorder and a rumoured drug problem. The drug use has since been strongly denied by the twin’s publicist and they state that they do not have anything to do with the use of any kind of illegal drugs.
Despite their ups and downs Mary Kate and Ashley appear to be back on firm ground once again and are definitely set for new and exciting things to come in the not so distant future.
